SoftRock RXTX Ensemble i HF utförande |
Good Morning All,
A number of people have ask when is a 6m/4m/2m RXTX Ensemble transceiver kit going to be available? I too have been thinking about such a kit.
My thought is that the RF output would be generated at an IF frequency and then up-converted to the VHF band of choice. Amplification and LP filtering would then be done at the VHF band to produce about one watt output power. An attempt would be made to fit the circuits on the same size circuit board as the RXTX Ensemble.
All of the SoftRock kits are based on good input from others so I am again open to suggestions from the group. I would be most interested in your comments!
Thanks and 73,
Tony KB9YIG
Hello All,
The thought would be to use the Si570 output for generation of the quadrature clock signals as well as for up/down conversion clock.
For 144 MHz operation the Si570 output frequency, f, would be set such that f+f/4 = 144. This would give f= 115.2 MHz. The RX and TX IF frequencies would then be f/4= 28.8 MHz.
For 50 MHz operation f+f/4 = 50 would give f= 40 MHz and an IF frequency of 10 MHz.
To keep the kit price as low as possible I do favor a single circuit board approach.
Thanks and 73,
Tony Parks
